Kit O’Connor has been ‘forced’ to come out as bisexual at just 18-years-old after fans claimed he was queerbaiting for his role in teen love story Heartstopper.

“back for a minute. i’m bi. congrats for forcing an 18 year old to out himself. i think some of you missed the point of the show. bye”, Connor tweeted.

Adding to Connor’s sentiment, it also seems like these people a) have forgotten themselves what it’s like to be in the closet, and b) have nothing better to do with their time. Perhaps some people can see why the argument for ‘gay actors in gay roles’ is problematic.

Connor had previously said “…we’re still all so young and to start speculating about our sexualities and maybe pressuring us to come out when maybe we’re not ready,” he told the Reign with Josh Smith podcast.

“I mean, for me, I just feel like I’m perfectly confident and comfortable in my sexuality, but I’m not too big on labels and things like that. I’m not massive about that. And I don’t feel like I need to label myself, especially not publicly.”
