You remember 300? The one with the chiselled, oiled up Spartans poking each other with their swords.

Whether it was intended or not Zack Snyder’s 2007 cult-hit 300 was pretty gay already, but it turns out the sequel is even gayer. (Who says 300 is too many people for an orgy?)

The Justice League director worked on a sequel to his cult homoerotic masterpiece during the pandemic and – get ready to eye-roll hard at homophobic Hollywood – Warner Bros. allegedly passed on it ‘cause it focused on a gay love story.

Zack Snyder revealed all to the hosts of The Fourth Wall, The Playlist’s podcast. He said: ‘Over the pandemic, I had a deal with Warner Brothers and I wrote what was essentially going to be the final chapter in 300.

“But when I sat down to write it, I actually wrote a different movie. I was writing this thing about Alexander the Great and it turned into a movie about the relationship between Hephaestion and Alexander. It turned into a love story. So it really didn’t fit in as the third movie.”

Snyder added: “But there was that concept, and it came out really great. It’s called Blood And Ashes, and it’s a beautiful love story, really, with warfare. I would love to do it, [Warner Bros] said no… you know they’re not huge fans of mine. It is what it is.”

We were fucking robbed. All of us.

FYI, huns, there is already one spin-off to 300 where Eva Green basically plays a maniacal, man-hating, warrior drag queen – that’s pretty gay. It’s not 300 sweaty men spearing each other, but still… you gotta pick and choose your battles 😉

TBH, we would not be surprised if this was adapted by Men.com
