TikTok has banned That Vegan Teacher and her hateful spew. Kadie Karen (go figure) Diekmeyer repeatedly contributed to a racist and homophobic rhetoric to her 1.7 million followers.
Before she was given the boot, Diekmeyer notable compared coming out as vegan to coming out as queer, and speaking up about veganism to the Black Lives Matter movement. Isn’t it ironic that she loved vegetables so much it turned her brain to cabbage?
In her anti-LGBTQ rant she said coming out as a member of the LGBTQ community was “entirely selfish”. Unlike coming out as vegan…
Adding, “It is only talking about you. It’s not talking about the things you’re going to do better in the world.” Well, it is if you’re passionate about human rights.
Finally, someone launched a petition against the old crow, garnering 20,000 signatures. It read:
“Her targets have included minors under 18, the LGBTQ+ Community, Person’s [sic] with disabilities, people of the black community, various religions and more. Multiple reports have been made against her content yet her platform remains active.”
She also apparently had a side account called “That Houlocast Teacher” comparing the mass slaughter to the consumption of animals. While unconfirmed, she has previously posted videos comparing WWII and veganism, so we wouldn’t be surprised.
She then took her discrimination over to YouTube, waffling for 20 minutes. It’s kind of hilarious – but mostly embarrassing – that she thinks by comparing meat consumption to these huge, important and often tragic human incidents that she’s on the moral high ground.
In the caption she writes:
“Veganphobia is real. It is wrong and it is dangerous. My home has been attacked by people who left dead animal body parts on my front steps. Eggs were thrown over my fence. Death threats were uttered.”
Perhaps she can understand how LGBTQ, Black, and Jewish people have felt for so long, only our death threats weren’t “uttered”, they were materialized. Nobody is harassing Kadie for her lifestyle choice, they’re doing it because of the things she’s said.
I’m not condoning death threats or leaving chicken legs on her door step, just invalidating her “veganphobia” theory.
That Vegan Teacher, the time has come, for you to sashay away.
