Cybersex, gloryholes, and socially distanced sex acts are all things that could pop up in the Sex and the City reboot (or “revisit” as SJP wants to call it), as the love lives of our leading ladies get entwined with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“[COVID-19 will] obviously be part of the storyline, because that’s the city [these characters] live in,” SJP told Vanity Fair.

Obviously.

“And how has that changed relationships once friends disappear? I have great faith that the writers are going to examine it all.”

Maybe it could go something like this…

Well, from what we’ve heard the only things not happening in New York are indoor dining and nightclubbing; and we can hardly see the now 50-somethings dropping pills in Trade like once upon a time.

Just Like That… which begins filming in the summer has new writers, which Parker believes will bring “life experience, political world views, and social world views” to the storyline.

Which will be good to see… but please don’t butcher every episode by trying too hard to give a “message”, as Will & Grace did. Storylines should most definitely reflect political and social issues but not in a way that isn’t organic to the show’s original style.

As you probably know, Kim Cattrall will not be returning, and we’re still left in the dark as to what will happen to the hole her character will leave.

Personally, we don’t think they should recast Samantha (that generally removes us from the fantasy), but they should bring in a new character to ensure the show retains it’s original light-heartedness.

It was rumoured that Caitlyn Jenner would make an appearance, and Just Like That… we lost interest.
