Girls star Christopher Abott‘s latest project is causing a stir, and not just because of its existentialist nature. Having moved on from the HBO comedy, Abott was ready to sink his teeth – among other things – into a more serious project.

Catch-22, originally a book, follows one man’s journey through his existential crisis during the time of World War II. Not sure exactly how thrilling that sounds unless you’re a history teacher, but the nudity alone was enough for Ellen to pull him on her show.

Proving exactly why the gays love her, Ellen grilled Abott about whether he was always naked on set, and why he didn’t wear his modesty pouch…

Quite a bland interview as they go, even the audience didn’t seem to get sliver of banter. But also, just us, or is he high?
