Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are the first ever royals to publicly celebrate Pride month; with a message of support sent to the LGBT+ community and tribute to Princess Diana.

They wrote: “This month we pay tribute to the accounts supporting the LGBTQ+ community – those young and old, their families and friends, accounts that reflect on the past and are hopeful for a deservedly more inclusive future.”

It adds: “We stand with you and support you ? Because it’s very simple: love is love.”

The message was posted to the Sussex Royal Instagram account, along with a collage of celebratory LGBT+ images, one of which saw Princess Diana sitting with an AIDs patient during the height of the crisis. N’aww… she was such an ally!

It’s great to see Harry continue working toward continuing his mother’s legacy and allyship; although the Royals are always going to get slack for deviating from tradition. One homophobe commented:

“Really no point to having a royal family anymore if they can’t uphold any sense of tradition. They are just phasing themselves out. Succession will eventually become irrelevant in a modern society with these attitudes.”

YAY!

There are all these rumours that Meghan is trying to “push the Royal family out”; well maybe they need a good f**king nudge. We need a Royal family that changes with the times and leads by a loving example.
