If you were looking forward to World Pride already, there’s one more reason to get excited: the Queen of Pop, Madonna will be performing.

Madge made the statement saying, “I hear you,” while draped in a rainbow flag, “I’ll be on Pride Island, where I was born”, and is expected to perform a few songs there on Sunday 30th June. No doubt guests will hear an array of already-released songs from Madame X album, including LGBT-anthem I Rise, dedicated to the fighters of the Stonewall rebellion.

Rumours that Madona would appear at Pride have circulated for nearly a year, and now the buzz has been confirmed, Chris Frederick, NYC PRide’s Executive Director has said:

“The community called loud and clear for an appearance by Madonna at Pride Island for WorldPride and the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. I’m thrilled to report that Madonna and WorldPride NYC delivered on that call.

“This is going to be a night that our Pride Island guests will remember for the rest of their lives.”

Madonna has also partnered with The Trevor Project and for the entire month of Pride, all of Madonna’s proceeds from the exclusive Madame X Pride collection of a limited-edition Pride Rainbow Vinyl, flag and digital download will be donated to the organization.
