Legendary fashion designer, Karl Lagerfield has died at the age of 85.

After months of ill health, and missing a number of important fashion events, Lagerfield passed away in Paris on Tuesday morning (today). The German designer was the creative director for Fendi before moving on to his long-running reign at Chanel. Largerfield joined Chanel a decade after Coco died, and gave an injection of renewed life into the brand.

Lagerfield’s signature looks was his jet-white hair, a black suit and dark shades – even in the summer.

“I am like a caricature of myself, and I like that,” he once said.

Lagerfield was loved in the industry and has received outpourings on social media from Donatella, Victoria Beckham and Henry Holland – with countless more to come throughout the day.
