Between its relatable humour and too real racial commentary, Insecure is rapidly becoming one of HBO’s most relevant TV shows.
Issa Rae brings comedy and drama while subtly demonstrating the micro-agressions that black people face on a daily basis. Rae also brings the SEX, much like (every) other HBO show, Insecure doesn’t shy away from sex.
‘Cause like racism and uncensored conversations, sex happens in real life, and Insecure reflects that. Even in its obsessionally awkward glory; like Issa attempting to manouver shower sex.
Although, we have to admit, it looks like those girls are having way better sex than us. Rae was recently met with some criticism, that the show does not do enough to encourage safe sex with a visible lack of contraceptives. Though Rae has addressed this, saying she will “do better” next season.
