When it comes to Azealia Banks, the controversial rapper has often left audiences – especially gay ones – divided in opinion of her; but who’s side will they fall on now that Banks has unleashed her wrath on ‘Mother’ Ru?!

The rapper claims that RuPaul ripped off the beat for her single The Big Big Beat with her own jam Call Me Mother. And while the similarities are unarguable, many have jumped-in to say that the beat for both tracks originates from a basic voguing beat sampled and evolved on countless club tracks.

This mash-up helps compare the sampled beat:

In a series of angry tweets she boasted about how she had Ru’s album American pulled from streaming platform Spotify:

“Lol I got rupauls ripoff of the big big beat .. “call me mother” removed. You will not step on my little black girl toes bitch. You will take your razor bumps and pumps to the nearest laser hair removal clinic and seethe. @RuPaul BYE UGLY.”

Banks also went on to ru-veal that Mama had reached out to her, and that she was disappointed in him as a black person.

The stream of tweets went on for quite some time; supporting tweets which called out Drag Race and RuPaul for selling out on black culture to white gay men.

She even ignited beef with the queens of Drag Race, who naturally stood up for their queen.

She also puts Drag Race and RuPaul under fire for not allowing cis women and trans women on the show, (although Peppermint was in the final of season 9).
