They’re the duo that exploded over the internet after their hilarious home-made videos (and no, it’s not Kim Kardashian and Ray J). As we approach the end of the year, I caught up with the boys for QX Magazine to discuss the most memorable happenings…

We know you’re Queens of Pop, but aside from yourselves, what diva deserves a crown for 2013?

Miley Cyrus is the undisputed queen of 2013. In this day and age there is a group of society that is obsessed with pulling apart artists and trying to call them sexist, misogynistic and racist. I like the fact that Miley splits public opinion and doesn’t really give a shit. In fact, that’s how she makes her money.

What’s been your most memorable music video of the year?

Lady GaGa’s ‘Applause’ video has been the best video this year, shame the song wasn’t her best. People need to chill out on Lady GaGa and stop the backlash, we need her in the pop world. Imagine how boring a world full of Katy Perry’s would be?

And what’s the song that you just can’t get out of your heads?

Britney Spears ‘Work Bitch’ is fabulous. We think it would have been much better with a Ru Paul sample ‘You Better Werk’!

It’s been quite a year for publicity stunts and shocking performances too from Miley Cyrus at the EMAs, Lady Gaga on X Factor – which one was the most fierce or horrifically tragic?

I think Rihanna’s ‘Pour it Up’ video was pretty hilarious. We are all so used to seeing bad gal Rihanna incorporating a sly bean flick into her dutty wine that when she is dry humping a chair in a video we don’t bat an eyelid. That video was Rihanna saying to Miley Cyrus, “I’m a Dancehall Queen from Barbados and I will show you how to twerk,” which is pretty tragic.

Which pop star has had their style most on point this year?

Dame Mariah Carey is always one sequin away from full on drag. She is bonkers and we love the dissolution in the way she dresses. When she looks in the mirror she sees Jessica Rabbit, but we see a chubby millionaire and that is just too fabulous.

For you personally, what’s been your biggest highlight?

The highlight of our year is defiantly travelling around the country and meeting all our fans. Ever since we put our Atomic Kitten parody online in April our life has been a blur of night clubs, motorways and hotels and the fans give us the inspiration to keep going a 100 miles an hour and to keep developing our act to be the best.

What can we expect from your performance at the Two Brewers? Any Christmas numbers?

We are working on a few Christmas videos next week so hopefully we will have a festive section in the show.

Finally, your predictions for 2014 – who do you see being a massive star of pop?

When Beyoncé finally decides to release her album, it will blow up.

(*The interview was conducted before Beyoncé released her visual album last week – so you know they’ve got good intuition)
